The wedding took place on a Tuesday because on that date exactly is when they celebrated seven years together.
50 friends and family members flew in from all over for an early afternoon lunch and celebration in their condo building.
They married on the rooftop, then had roasted pig (as per Chinese tradition), the bride serenaded everyone, and they had a raffle.
They are talented designers, and so I kept that in mind when composing their photographs in their venue. I utilized lines, shapes and shadows to reflect how I imagine they must see things with their designer brains. :)
Photographing Viola & Carlos perfectly illustrates how I love to photograph couples. If you are curious about our approach on the wedding day here is a little blurb:
If you ever wonder why I like to mention what film camera I use, feel free to ask me sometime.
“We could not stop scrolling through your blog post since you sent it (basically 2 hours and counting, still oogling). You really knew how to frame the moments we sought after. It really shows through your photographs that every shot was taken with creative intentions, but at the same time you allowed your subjects to be in their natural, undisturbed state so that nothing was staged - exactly why we love your style and approach!! We especially love how you played with the mirrors at the venue where you somehow captured several interactions in a single shot... Freaking. Mind-blowing.
So glad you were there to help us document our special day exactly the way it happened, and not dressing anything up to capture what it isn't. Any time our friends are in need of a photographer, you are definitely the one we will highly recommend. I would love more people to be exposed to your style and approach to wedding photography (I really think most people just didn't think there could be anything else but what social media feeds them... people just another perspective imo), and have a more genuine approach to their special day - as it should be =]
Cannot wait to see the rest!!! XD We are so happy we came across your website when we did!! #noregrets”
